Cambelt

hiii i'm new to looking after a golf, but how many miles can you do before a cambelt is due??

60k max. also get the water pump done at the same time...
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

i had mine done last week (had done 71k)

belt was knackered though so soon as imo :wink:

Any 1 got a picture of where the cambelt is so I can check it? My golf has done 77k but cant find evidence of cambelt being done only their word for it :(

vw specify 60,000mls or 4 years also as steve says have the waterpump replaced at the same time as having the cambelt changed

I see on eurocarparts that water pump is around £20 but how complicated it is to fit estimated time?

3-4 hours if you've done one before, all day if you havent :grin:

yeah thats why people change it with the cambelt as you're only paying for the pump and labour once.  To do them separately is not cost effective
