hi i have a 91 golf gti 16v, it had a oil leak looked like it was the cam seal, i drove it into the workshop checked this and turned out to be the rocker seal, as i was there i thought i would check the spark plugs as the leads had tape on them i put it back went to drive it out it wouldnt start so i left it thinkin it was flooded and still didnt start the next morning. i then changed the plugs leads dizzy cap and roatery arm, and still wouldnt start, i have towed it to try get her going enganged gear and released the clutch and it like sounds like its sort of goin but it isnt!! and after a bit of givin it some revs it fire up but pops n splutters and have to keep revs high else it dies, but does die anyway eventually, i checked fuel is goin through and that was ok. i have tried to start it again today after chargin battery all night and it just gives like half a turn! this maybe tho cuz the starter motor isnt the best! the car had been running ok until i took it into the workshop i think, people tell me it could be bent cams, firing order, fuel..... i read on here somebody had a problem like mine so someone nos the answer!! lol please help me!! :undecided:

  • Hello, my name is John and I'm a dub addict.
remember firing order on 16v is anticlockwise on the dizzy, not clockwise as on 8v. order is 1 3 4 2
