My ACC button is set second from the left and while in 1st, 3rd or 5th you cant see the button. In a left hooker it would be fine; I'm going to move it to the right. I imagine it's a piece of piss to move it, anyone know how?

Yes I agree with you on this one aswell, it's difficult to find sport mode when you need it quickly!! Haven't got a clue how to move though?

Is it possible to have ACC retrofitted and, if so, what price should we be looking at.  £700 factory option or thereabouts.

Cheers

Sorry I'm only jealous coz I really like the MKVI but cant justify the price what with wanting to get my own place soon, growing up sucks ha ha!

Heh mate

Are you fixed up with an RCD510 cos I am getting an RNS510 fitted in my car in July and my 1 year old RCD510 will be up for sale after that.  Could talk costs if you've not got one organised.

As this is an ACC thread I felt a little highjack would not be frowned upon.
Yes, the button is very much in the wrong place especially for right hand drive manuals. I am sure VW could have been a bit more thoughtful and less parsimonious and moved it towards the right. Same with the handbrake.
My thoughts on ACC: I am 100% glad I have it and it is worth every penny. 'Comfort' gives the best ride and the car does not feel so frenetic. However, the damping is a bit suspect as sharp ridges do cause the suspension to crash a bit. This does not happen in 'normal' mode where the damping seems to be a bit better. This is interesting as a similiar problem has been uncovered with the adaptive dampers in the new BMW 5 Series. But overall, I still prefer 'comfort' on our lousy roads.
I suppose, the best solution would be to have standard 17" wheels with ACC for that perfect ride. But then you lose on looks. Horses for courses.

Moving the switches isn't as easy as you'd think.
They're made like kiddies play blocks - in that they only fit in one slot!
They have different tabs on the underneaths so that only fit one way.

I was going to move my parking sensor button closer to me - but I couldn't be bothered when I saw the weren't a direct swap.
