If you wana pm me you reg number Penguin I will do a cap and glass's guide mileage adjusted for you tomorrow. I would have to say there is not alot going for it to make it desirable for a dealer high mileage, 3 door so private will be much better. We would buy it off you but wouldnt pay over the odds for it.

I wonder if the remap would make it more or less desirable?
Seems a shame to remove it. Or can you sell it on?!

Much less desirable to a dealer we wouldn't touch anything that had been tampered with......... however private it depends who you try and sell it to to some people they will think oh great saved a few hundred quid but I would think most would not want to spend £20k on a car thats under a year old with no warranty should the dealers find out unless you have a great relationship with them.

Right guys thanks very much for the responses. I'm going to have a look at what I get offered tomorrow as a trade in price. Its a secret just now what im looking at but if i decide to go ahead I will inform you.

To speculate somewhat on the GTD (I can hijack this thread cause it's mine )

I think I would buy a GTD over the GTI in future. I took my car to the Ring but only did a couple of corners and then sat at about 40mph with the hazards on. I came off after one lap. I did not enjoy taking the GTI round. For me the GTI makes a better GT as in Grand Tourer. It strode down to France without complaint and was very comfortable. It has great pace to overtake and was pretty much perfect. But in this aspect I think the GTD is better. Better economy and lower revs. I have to apologise now but I am thinking the GTD is the better choice.

Perhaps if they made the GTI a bit more GTI ish... instead of making the R. I can't help but feel the GTI is an awkward child now between the GTD and the R...

Bring on the chaos

Now come on Steve30, you KNOW it's just coz you own one. I've always said the best car around at any time is the one you own.

Well since people have a tendency to buy the car they think is better that's true. :)

Yes, but I didn't really mean that. If I had a 1975 Allegro that would be the best car coz it would be all I'd got
