air in diesel line and wondering front end
« on: 15 June 2010, 20:54 »
hi all im back on this site again having moving to the dark side and getting a gt tdi but not owning one of these before i was just wondering if it is common to see the odd air bubble in the clear diesel line ?????? and if i flick the pipe there seems to be more air bubbles in the pipe just wondering if there is any common problems of this and any known fixes??

also the front end seems to have a mind of its own its seems to wonder a lot under braking and acceleration it looks like its had wish bones, drop links and track rod ends which all seems to point to the steering rack

another problem i have it seems quite difficult to get into first gear i need to sometimes force it

just wanting peoples thoughts on my problems

many thanks

Mine used to do this and i got some fairly large air bubbles, i tried everything replaced the fuel filter, replaced the pipes (£46!!!!! ) etc etc... but in the end the only thing i found was the joints used to connect the fuel pipes at the back of the engine near the bulkhead so i replaced the pipes with a slightly larger pipe and some jubilee clips to ensure a snug tight fit ill get some pictures up after work. Hope this helps.
