No no mate I think your confused slightly!

I said if you want to play mp3's on your cd player you need the one with the mp3 logo above the slot, I assumed you ment an mp3 CD!  Any of the cd players with the option of a cd changer can have a iPod interface connected.

Hope that's clearer mate?

I don't know how much works involved whether you can get away with just ordering a loom, but I've got a brand new iPod housing and connection that comes fitted in the golf match in the armrest if it's any use to you? It's over £230 to buy new. It's still boxed brand new

ah sorry I hadn't read the post right. As said earlier, vw do the cheaper iPod fitting kit that gets wired into the original cd player loom that goes to a small box that gets hidden behind the cd player then an iPod lead comes off that and into the glovebox usually. It's not the best of kits, I believe the one I mentioned is a bit better but can only be fitted inside an armrest as The connection comes fitted in a single DIN tray. As you also mentioned, a cd changer would be your only other option

buy yourself a lead with a 3.5mm jack and 2 rca connector's on then feed the lead through to to the glove box, ipod lead costs £20 max for a good quality 1, obviously this option depends on if you have rca connectors on the back of your car stereo

this is one of the things i wanted to know, whether you could use a jack, im not too fussed about being able to use the headunit to control the ipod. just want better sound then through the FM transmitter
