Power delivery is the main difference

Some maps are smooth and linear, others give you a big torque spike to give you the impression of more power but tail off very quickly

It's all about the AVERAGE bhp :afro:

@ linz, what about if you need fuel and no super is available?

if its mapped on super, won't it det if you use lower octane fuel?

could always bang in an octane booster, but that makes each tank more expensive

The shrewder man doesn't run the fuel into the bottom if the red before hunting for more    I don't think the odd rennet here and there will hurt every now and again..... I think the ECU can learn to deal with crap fuel and vice versa

Pays your money and takes your chances.  Some CC cars I've driven have been spot on (Rich's for example); others have been horrible  :undecided:

All I'll say is I was with Custom Code.............

My advice is to try and test drive one before parting with your cash   See if you like how the power is delivered etc etc

I'm running an R-Tech map now and have been for the past 18 months

Mine was down on the quoted power by around 15-20bhp and I found their customer support terrible - they thought my traction control was the reason for a dip in my rolling road graph (it was turned off during the run!)

Since the R-Tech remap its consistantly made over 170bhp which is about spot on for a 130TDI

Your experience may be different especially as its a mates garage so easier to complain if something isn't right   ask your mate if he'll upload the map to trial.  If he knows his stuff he'll be able to tweak it accordingly :afro:

i've had a few remaps now. ecutek on a scooby. revo on a tdi leon. bought a ibiza cupra ( last month ) stage 2 revo. Just has remap done last week on 20vt octy with rtech.( Before i get boo'd off i still got a vr6 mk2 golf ( which is for sale ) ! )

The map on the octy is smooth and pulls right up to the red line. drives better low down too. Its never going to go any further as its wifee's car, so just wanted to improve it. car made 177bhp on dyno as was tested to make sure everything was ok and now @ 207bhp was happy with that. Its the way it drives which is just better all round!

A mate of mines got a mk4 gti mapped by rtech. done i think 120k been to the ring and going again! car's not let him down and really hapy with the remap too! sportcat's fitted, and will be going back for round 2 shortly!

Also another mate's got a alhambra 130. now running 170bhp and 300lbft. again really happy. ( rtech map )

When i had the leon tdi, i didn't know about rtech, so revo was the best choice. it was very all or nothing supposed to be 185 bhp and 290lbft. It went very well and did do better on fuel!

re fuel. shell all the way! " V-POWER" petrol or derv!

I'm about out of mates now! lol but all very happy.
