I sold my mk3 VR6 a while ago and convinced a friend to sell me his mk2. I'd always liked it and new he'd bought it at 70000 miles, when he sold it to me it was about to hit 130000,
fully polybushed
straight through exhaust system with standard backbox
cheap coilovers
front and rear strutbraces
grooved and drilled discs with braided lines and yellow stuff pads
I collected it with half the interior in boot, in need of a really good clean and a couple of dents in the nearside alloys. Gave it a bit of attention with an as new set of seats as i could find, which happened to come from a later model, and removed the carpet for a clean.
Bought another set of bbs to replace the two damaged ones and leave me with a spare, which it didnt have. I got the clay kit and the compound out to try and revive the paint. Theres damage to the drivers door and it ideally needs replacing, paint on the bonnet and drivers wing. If i can get a replacement silver door it would be a big improvement.
It needs some new seatbelts as they're covered in resin, similar to the seats (as he was a boat builder.) Theres plenty to keep me busy for a while.
Future intentions are to replace the engine with a more powerful unit, i'd like to keep it 8v. I'd then have the oppurtunity to repaint the bay whilst the lumps out
heres some pics up til now
