Service now!?

Hi, I started my car today like normal but on the dash it came up service now, is this a warning or just a little reminder to get it done as I will have owned the car for a year tommorow?

Would you be able to switch it off by holding in the right nipple, hitting the start button and then tweaking the left nipple to the right?

Pretty sure it would develop a fault at some point and keep coming on again and again....and again.....and again.....and again
