I bought my mk3 gti last september and the only bad thing about the interior in my opinion is that there is no cup holders. I do some long distance in the gti but mainly a lot of sports, so am regulaly drinking whilst driving (no booze i promise :P) so thought i'd browse on here for some answers. I saw a thread on here talking about the us spec cup holders but then there were the issues of fitting etc so I thought i'd try fitting a mk4 cup holder to the mk3.

I want to say i've no experience of fitting anything or customising cars, i'm a cycle mechanic by trade so have some skills, although someone with better skills or a professional would have done the job better! Took me 3 hours to complete, let me know what you all think!!

I like the idea.

But as said, needs abit more finesse so it looks factory.

I also dont like how you can't get to the controls behind it.

But even so, good effort on the originality!

thanks, just been out in her, finesse yes I'll think of something, I have a spare dash unit you see so thought i'd mess around with this one and see what I could come up with...it's not a problem for me having the controlls partially covered, I know my sterio to the toutch so that doesn't matter and there is enough room to use the temp dials!

Anyone have any suggestions to make it look 'a little more factory' or to tidy it up a bit around the leather?
