CAI on golf gti turbo
« on: 08 June 2010, 22:49 »
Hello again all, i posted a thread last week about fitting a baileys dump valve and read that it was better to fit a cold air induction than to fit a piston dump valve (as i wanted it for the sound)  I already have a recirculating dump valve fitted but what sort of air induction would i need? (would it need to be like a pipercross viper or cda) or could it be a reasonably priced one?  also would it make the pppttsshhh that a piston dump valve would?  Sorry to sound stupid, not familiar with VWs this is my first lol

would this induction be ok? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380234717128&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Thanks in advance

Or try this one :afro: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/airfiltercarbonio.htm

   pricey or what?
way over priced imo.

+1 - although anyone who has owned/does own will will inevitably come along and say "they're worth the money, you get what you pay for etc etc". I swear if they made dog cr@p out of carbon fibre someone would buy one

carbon isn't just there for the looks, it's got very good heat resistance properties...

dunno tbh my ebay one (2nd link) is pretty noisey compared to the oem airbox,

dunno how carbon would affect the accoustic propertys of the pipe.

i don't know if the weave would affect the sound - by not being a flat and smooth as ali?
