a little steering wheel wobble on motorway
« on: 08 June 2010, 20:24 »
Oks ever since i ve got my car back after changing the hub on my car i get a bit of a wobble when i first get on the motorway for about 3-5mins but then it goes, thought it was the road surface but its not.  :undecided:

Could it be my tracking ? or need my wheels balancing ? Steering rack ?

*i am getting a little brake squeal on my passengers side, dowt its got anything to do with it but, just in case thought i would mention it

Thanks

sounds like something on driveshaft or something along those lines that has not be put back on correctly maybe when hub was done?  :undecided:

if you are able to look over your from drive shafts/wheels/hub etc ect your self do this, or go to somewhere who will check it for free ie quick fit maybe. without seeing/feeling fault its limited to what people can heap you with.  let us know how you get on

I ment to post earlier, i had a look cant see anything untoward but its going to pop in to the garage because its still shaking a bit also picking my bro up from my garage on Saturday so thought would kill two birds with one stone.

I took some snaps to see it you guys can see any thing these are all the passenger side which i switched the hub out on.

Right to resolve...

1. Jack wheel off ground
2. Place hand either side of wheel horizontally and firmly shake it left to right, Any play?
3. "" vertically and firmally shake it up and down, Any play?

Play = Parts faulty/Not fitted correctly - ill tell you which.

No play = Do you use wheel spacers? if not, Check wheel balance as cant be anything else.

Well do when i get home hope its not the bearing as the old hub i replaced had just had a new bearing in it  :undecided:

dont have wheel spacers. i was planning on getting the front wheels balanced this week end anyways as i switched my front tiers round when i had my coilovers done.
