Minor Defects

Hey Guys

I have a couple of defects on my now nearly year old gti... Was just wondering whether anyone else has the same and whether I should expect VW to cover them under warrenty.

1) The light above the drivers side sun visor is constantly on, not only when the mirror is open as it should be

2) The cigarette lighter has stopped working... I called local dealer and they have already hinted that fixing this will not be covered under warrenty as apparently this charging point is not supposed to be used for charging TomToms or mobile phones.

2) Maybe it's just the fuse that's blown if you've overloaded it?

Yes on both, just tell him the lighter socket doesn't work when your trying to light your ciggies - he'll never know!

I am absolutely flabergasted by this, and can almost not believe this. Anybody who works in the car industry will know cigarette lighter sockets are not actually used to light cigarettes anymore.

TBH if you don't actually smoke it's going to be difficult to convince a stealer that you genuinely did use it just for lighting fags. a) you car won't stench of smoke b) they'll be none of the tiny bits of ash left on the coil c) you won't have telltale bits of ash all over the side of the ashtray

also i noticed in the boot of mine there is a cigarette style socket - i presume this has been provided for the convenience of powering a drink/food cooler or those electric pumps and shiz like that. are you only supposed to light fags with that too?

No that's not a cigarette lighter but an actual 12V feed. So they couldn't knock you back if that blows!!
