Nice one antogoof :laugh:.I had the K-Jet engine on my old Mk2 upgraded with a Pack C polished and ported head from TSR and it sounded the dogs doodaa's.I kinda know my round the Mk2 so i guess the work can be done by yours truly instead of searching for a competent mechanic.The search is now on.

I think so to nicol_vw.Trouble is,there are so many out there and not all good either.Best place is gonna be getting one off here or other VW sites.Good job i can give the overtime a battering at work to fill my pockets at the ready :wink:.

If it's a weekend car then MK2 all the way. Decent MK2s are getting hard to find now at a good price though. You could get a decent MK3 for peanuts.

I think the Mk3 is the poor mans MK2.I think secretly most mk3 owners would like a MK2 and secretly MK2 owners think the MK3 is poo! :grin:

Some would, some wouldnt. I would love another mk2 but i know that with a little un on the way the mk3 is easily the better choice for my needs! Depends what you want your car to do, theyre completely different cars aimed at different markets.
