nothing bad to say about the GTD... but getting a very respectable 41mpg on a 400mile round trip this weekend, I dont really see the point of a GTD for myself.

Well I can get almost 600 miles from mine!!  :grin:Where were you this weekend?

600 miles is quite impressive... only it takes you twice as long to get there

was in N. London Steve... but unfortunately didnt get a spare minute as it was a friends wedding. Will be back down again within a few weeks though

Now now Steve, play nice. Lets not mislead here. To get 600 to a tank you would have to drive slower than a granny would you not?

Can I suggest we lobby VW to get them to make a GTID, basically a car with TWO engines, one diesel and one petrol (no girly electric hybrid cr@p for the moment, thank you very much ).

Then we could switch between the two depending on what mood we were in and, if we were feeling particularly frisky, we could switch both on at the same time

I would go for that in an instant... IF they could do something about the noise of a diesel AND make it RWD so that we could actually use all the torque.

AWD would be better for the torque
