Hence it needs more downforce but once it has it's a close one.

What?!

Is there a result from this, or is it purely a question?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

VR6 is much heavier in fact the abf is not much heavier than the standard mk 2 engine.

VR6 is around 50kg heavier than a ABF which is around 25KG heavier than a 8v.

I've raced a mate in his vr6 on a 1.1 mile straight and not alot in it. I have a mk3 16v.
I think 16v would be quicker but not faster.
mk2 16v for first half mile and then vr6 for last half mile.

what are you on about?

you know a mk2 produces the sum total of zero downforce at any speed dont you. Infact they almost certainly generate lift rather than downforce.

Im not really sure what this topic is about, is it a question or a statement? Who knows!

WTF is going on here? Are there any actual results or are we just heading towards the usual 8v vs 16v vs vr6 pointless arguement between a bunch of people who (for the most part) have have only driven a car with one of the above engines?!

AHHH!....The Prodical Son in the book of Luke. I think you will find that in a mile weight will become the winner over horsepower.....

The post means nothing so there is no point , but does there always have to be a point?

Meh.

Its almost like a willy waggling contest. As long as you're having (safe) fun, who the f*** cares which car is quicker!

On a related note, mine kept up with a (presumabley) standard mk5 GTI last week. Discuss  :smug:

I don't think a semi will give the same results
