STRUT ADVICE

Hi guys
I have played around with my suspension an awful lot of the last 2 years!
But just wondering if there is any tricks of the trade i could pick up when it comes to seperating the strut from hub, and putting the strut back in the hub!
I find the only way to get the hub away from the strut is hit it down with a soft headed mallet!
And to be honest, i really dont know how to get the strut back in! I tend to drop the cars weight on it to make it push down?
Anyone any better techniques?
Thanks
Jake

put a jack under the bottom arm and you can jack it back up to the strut whilst keeping the strut aligned.
As for removal then the method you use is what i do and would say most people do. Only other way i can think of is to unbolt the bottom arm and lower it down with the hub still bolted on at the balljoint.

another tip i learned is to jack the other side up while removing too as the ARB will give more slack if the other side is raised, better still remove one of the drop links.

Hulmie's way to get back on is what i do, to remove, chiesel or flat point screw driver in the gap at the bak of the hub to open it out, then hit away til it comes of, also always remove the drop link for extra movement.
