Cabby Grill on Tin Top
« on: 02 June 2010, 10:46 »
Just a quick silly question.  i have found a couple of grilles on the bay that are just like the one I had before. There's definately no difference between later Cabby grilles and 83 MK1 tin tops is there?

Mine is a tin top grill although not a later cabby, but would be surprised if there is any difference.

'gibby' might be the best one to ask to make absolutely certain.
'AdamB' would also know I'm sure but don't see him much now do we?

I'll just go and dig out that bumber cover and take some pics for you............back soon

It's a bit grubby but nothing a good clean won't fix. It seems to be unmarked:-

big boys toys or crazys do complete bumpers with metalwork for around £55

also the 13slat grills which are the original should fit no problem, they slot in at bottom and held with 5 clips at the top, the outer pieces are held by 2 screws

Not 100% sure, I think they are the same, but this is the front of my old cab if it helps.

......now officially dubless.

pretty sure the fitment is the same, just the later cabby has a more MK2 Golf style grille to modernise it. I prefer the early grilles :)

yeah earlier grilles are cool, just looking to replace like for like and it looks like mine had a later style one.  i was almost tempted into getting a citi golf grille as they do an after market honeycombe style, dont think the fitment is the same for those???
