Best mod?
« on: 01 June 2010, 22:41 »
Hiya iv recently got a mk2 16v GTI and although first job is give it a service, etc and get a few things done I do want to start improving her.... I want the car to look standard or v v v close too, so want to know what people have gone for and if they worth the money? I was thinking changing my rubbers for poly, or a modified cylinder head.... Any other ideas welcome.

Cheers

Fit an ABF 2.0 16V motor.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I wouldn't go for poly bushes unless you're tracking it. There's info on fitting S3 bushes that are OEM +, think DH fitted them?

Replacing worn old parts with new ones will make a vast difference before you fork out for "performance mods".

Lower it 40mm, K&N panel filter, 4 branch,  2 box 2.25 exhaust, WUR mod, ported T/b should produce a comfy 150bhp.

However,

Fit an ABF 2.0 16V motor.

would have the same effect and better fuel economy, more torque and tuning options.

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.
