What you lose is nothing compared to the illusion of how much your gaining with the sound factor or get a simota one which is a gain and an excellent sound. Although you need a map for the gain which in reality is about 5bhp if not less..... All filter gains are the same though..... unless you put a forge sticker on the air box

Is it really worth the £195?

Thanks

Yes, I got mine from awesome, it does look great, yes your paying a lot for carbon but i did find it did improve the response and fuel economy. i'm always wary of " fleabay specials.

buy the 44 pound one off ebay very cheap ,but the filter on the end is only £10 new so buy a better one , just watch for big puddles or just chop it down ,make hell of a difference (shortened)............well worth the money.....

the carbonio was one of the first mods i ever bought! And to to do this day! Probably the one of the best.

There is nothing wrong with buying cheaper parts as at the end of the day, work to your own budget. But come on guys, carbonio FTW all the way. There is no comparison between ebay £40 filters and Carbonio CAI.

In my opinion, its like buying shoes.

You can either have a set of Astrix, which are unpleasing to the eye, and people know youve skimped out. Or you can have a set of nike 6.0. Which are truely gorgous, and worth every penny!

Thats my metaphor the day lol

Apparently CF is very good at heat reflection thus keeps the air cool but to be honest so is my alloy pipe, its not an F1 car its a mk4 golf. And as for loosing power as far as i'm aware nobody has ever run a back to back test with the Carbonio and the eBay special - it would be very interesting to see the results and may make a few people cry after spending £195...

how much would a flea bay one affect my fuel conspumtion??? im presuming that you get an incresased "blow off" noise with this compared to the smoothed air box mod???

Thats why c/f is used as its good at heat reflection i for one can say after a decent run that my carbonio intake pipe is relatively cool to the touch i doubt an alloy pipe will be the same and i think you will find it will be hotter than c/f as they are completely different materials anyway also i'm not aware of any back to back tests of the two products but its all down in the end to shall i say personal preference maybe its not an F1 car but its c/f for reason i for one dont regret spending that sort of sum on the carbonio as said before its cheap for a reason! by all means people have a budget but buy the best you can afford imo
