To Vanish, since you have now done the job could you kindly give me a step by step guide, as i'm looking at doing the same to my mk3 gti?

Hello Bolland,
I could do but I'd only be repeating what is already written in this very same thread :rolleyes: have a look at adyh's post and ridgers' very good advice. That bit wasn't added until after I'd done mine but I managed to drift my bearing races in with a large socket and a hammer!
What better time than now, what better place than here?

I think i'll go by Ridges advice, since he has ACTUALLY done the job before  :grin: :laugh:

Hello mate

I once tried to do all that. I personally woudn't recommend it especially in this weather.

If you got the right tools then go for it but remeber to do the push back on the rear brakes you need a special tool.
