Engine Management & ESP [Fixed]
« on: 30 May 2010, 15:06 »
Hi all

just a few days ago my engine management light has came on again.

and now today my ESP light has come on and wont go off.

I havnt got the software to check for codes myself so gonna have to wait til tuesday so i can take it to a local garage.

Has anyone ever had the same problem?

Ive seen posts of people saying ESP light on and juddering? but mine seems to drive fine at present.

The engine management and ESP lights on together sometimes points to a faulty maf sensor, even if the car appears to drive fine. It's worth scanning for faults before replacing the sensor because the EML came on first didnt it? So it could be 2 unrelated faults, with an abs sensor failing for example.

The engine management light was on 1st yes.

It was on when i bought the car (sept 09) because of the decat but i had a sports cat fitted and the light taken off a couple of months back.

At the time of fitting my cat, the guy did say my baileys dump valve was showing a fault code, could this of brought the light back on?
