I've just realised that my car has recently passed it's first birthday.
Happy Birthday car!

I don't have a photo of it as standard so here's a picture of it's twin sister registered at the same time in the same spec:

And now it's time to wish the little GTI a happy second Birthday.


2 Years old, 11200 miles.
Visits to the dealer so far: Nil, apart from a couple of services (although I'm just about to do 200 miles today so may regret typing that!)

Any regrets? None (apart from not getting one with xenons and Monza Shadows!)

Is the party so far away or are you making the poor darling work for the cake?
Now don't kerb those impractical 19".
Are you buying Silvia/Silva some Monza Shadows as a Birthday present? :kiss:

It'd have to ba Silva if it had a name. In fact I quite like Silva as it reminds me of the footballer. With the 19'' biceps the car is far too masculine to be a Silvia.

It didn't end up quite 200 miles, but at least it had a nice run out for its Birthday and some freshly squeezed fizzy super unleaded to fill its belly.
However it's not getting any more presents. It now has two sets of wheels and three gearknobs so that'll have to do! I'm spent out and any further changes will involve swaps.
Mind you I was offered a turbo back exhaust the other day which got me thinking......  :laugh:
I'll start another thread on that subject I think.

I think the poor car must be hitting puberty today too as it seems to have grown a beard since this morning....

I want my exhaust to sound like it does when i first start it, the exhaust not sounds nice and fruity....

Mine was a dealer thrash car, I fostered it at the tender age of 4 months to save it from a life of misery. It had 5000 odd miles on it already when I got it. It was the cheapest one in the country at the time.
TBH I never expected to still have it after 20 months of ownership. It'd be a hard act to follow though so it's staying with me for a good while longer.  :smiley:
