Number plate lamp: 1 brighter than the other!

Evening all,

Iv recently purchased some nice bright white LED's for the number plate lamps. Looks great although the left lamp is alot more dim than the right lamp.

This may sound daft and im not sure if this would effect it but going back a couple of weeks ago my right head light bulb blew taking the fuse along with it, so replaced the right head light bulb but the fuse which was but in (can't remember wat amp it was) was abit higher than the one placed in there originally so now its passing abit of electric through the fuse than it was originally...so my question is changing the fuse to another 1 which is running more electric through it made my right number plate lamp more bright as compared to my left?

This maybe a daft question but i wasnt sure if the headlights are wired into the loom along with the number plate lamps?

Try twisting the bulb round in the holder so they both face down the same way. Worked for me.

A fuse is purely an overcurrent device not a regulator or a capacitor, it just means the cable to the lamp can potentially melt with a higher rated fuse in which is why it will allow for example only 20 amps pass through instead of an uprated 30 amp.

Could be an earth fault, what are all the other light like?

All the other lights are fine just that particular one. How would i check/fix the earth fault..im not really clued up on these sorta things lol

Follow the earth cable to wherever it meets the chassis and check it's not all oxidised and mankey, might also be broken on a few cores around the connector

Is it that particular bulb? have you sawpped the 2 bulbs round?
