Check the inside of the connectors as one of the pins may have bent over.

May sound like the obvious question, but did you make sure you put the wiring connectors back in their ORIGINAL positions and didn't accidentally swap them over?

Its the outer unit so no swapping.  One of the pins did look a bit out of line but the connector wouldn't go anywhere near far enough in to reach the pins.

Have you looked at the moulding to see if there is a fault with the connector unit itself?  They sometimes have raw plastic from the mould stuck on them, which prevents connection.

Thanks for your help it's sorted now. Managed to clip it in by removing the back of the light unit and pushing the connectors together from both sides. Still don't know what was wrong but it's finished now :)

Do it! Well worth the money, and so simple to swap lenses and fit even I managed it :)
