ITG Intake
« on: 25 May 2010, 10:32 »
Hi guys, i'm new here, picking up my CW GTI on Friday and already planning a few mods

So just wanted to pick your brains a little!!

With regard to engine mods i'm planning on getting a full milltek system, ITG intake and a remap, have done a search for the ITG intake but can't seem to find much info on it apart from the fact that steve-p was running a prototype??
Anyone know if it is available to buy yet and if it is much louder than a standard intake, not a huge fan of really loud flutter/dump valve noise?!!
Have yet to see the full milltek system advertised anywhere yet either :undecided:

If anyone could steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it, thanks.

Alex

Hey,

I dont know a great deal about this intake. But (just thinking outloud here) I know the KO3s turbo and 2.0T engine dont really run at silly high bost so I wouldnt have thought the intake would make a loud dump / flutter sound at all.

Well you are going to have to take it off if it every goes back in for any warranty jobs.

^^^ No you won't If you just take to your dealership

The ITG intake isn't in production as yet as it's still under test. It's much quieter than the open cone filters as found on the older TFSI engine.

TBH unless your going to a stage 2 map you won't see much benefit from the intake
