Help..Which intercooler?

well the question is in the title. i received my baby 2 weeks ago and have put 600 miles on now:smiley:but as its getting quite hot now here in the UK i can't help but to feel sorry for her after a drive.

sooo i have been looking at intercoolers and have thought either getting the S3 or the Forge twincooler,but then im also trying to justify if the APR is worth double the amount has anyone got the forge? could you please share some of your thoughts.

the mods i have planed to do are intercooler,forge twintake,APR or Revo stage 2,TBE and maybe eibach street coilovers..

I think there is a bit of confusion here endy. An intercooler is used on a turbo charged diesel engine to cool the intake air after its been compressed.

Doesn't your motor have aircon?

Any car with a turbo has an intercooler. The bigger the better! The one on my mk2 is from a merc van, does the job!

I am getting the Forge Twintercooler, had a Forge FMIC on my Polo and it was a geat piece of kit! Very easy to fit also. The APR, S3 etc intercooler replaces the golf standard intecooler so a lot more work needs done to remove it, i.e crash bar, coolant needs drained ( so i have read) re-align headlights where as the Forge just requires to remove the front bumper and runs in parallel with the standard cooler 

Also the Forge I/C will be the first cooler the air hits, before the A/C and radiator so getting the coldest air poss! AWESOME GTI are selling it 50 quid cheaper than Forge themselves just now.

thanks for for the info Kenny, i guess its the forge then should be doing this next week at jkm in Portsmouth.they're also selling it for £470

any ideas on how much fitting might be by any chance? also any opinions on the colors of the hoses

Are you 100% sure the S3 one will fit a mk6 without further mods?

Would be good to know as the S3 is about half the prive of the Forge and doesn't look so obvious when your car goes in to a stealer.

yeh i think i read on the golfmk6.com forum,some guy changed to an s3 intercooler and also changed his turbo inlet pipe but apparently it was to short...

but surely the forge would be better than the s3 right....? it is more expensive
