I don't have the part number of the oil filter to hand but if you open the bonnet it stares straight at you and i think you can see the number  from what i remember.

If you changed your own oil it would be even cheaper still

Eh? It was myself that said it was twisted and poor to read but I had to add some oil to it today and realised it wasn't twisted at all. It must have been either my daughters or wife's car that had a twisted dipstick.

Maybe a picture would help. What part is twisted?

I've had a look in the well known part catalogue and it says oil filter 1.8/2.0ltr 4 cylinder CBFA, CCTA, CCZB, CDAA engine numbers - 06J 115 403 C - £16.86.

Or 2.0ltr 4 cylinder CDLC, CDLF engine numbers - 06D 115 562 - £16.27 thats filter element with gasket so thats an element not a canister. Someone has just said the diesels have an element. In fact the specific diesel filter is cheaper still.

Of course if your changing the oil and filter yourself then you would be better of getting the genuine filter from the dealer. I know they are expensive but for the extra cost its not worth arguing over warranty problems with the engine.
