No u were right mate - i should have made it clearer. seeing as i aint used it on a normal paint finish and not knowing what Hattie is gonna put it on, i should have pointed out the dangers too!

Thanks for your concern for my paintwork chaps. I will attack the wretched sticker with the hairdryer as soon as it stops bloody raining. I've got some Autoglym Super Resin so I'll give that a go on the residue. The Moo is Mystic Blue BTW

Will do, the OH is out there now about to wash the Moo (not that I'm spoilt or anything). Unfortunately he's insisting on washing his own car first (!) so might have to postpone pics til tomorrow.

use a hairdryer on low heat then peel the sticker off carefully so as not to damage the laquer. then use a tar and glue remover to take off the glue. then wash the area with warm water to remove the residue of the tar and glue remover. Im a signmaker and find this works well on vehicles.

BTW, the hairdryer trick worked fine, no need for any solvent or polish.
