removing irritating stickers - help!

I need to remove a dealer's sticker from the Moo's paintwork. It is stuck on just below the N/S rear light. Am I right in thinking this is a hairdryer and blunt object incident, or has anyone got a better idea?

hairdryers thebest idea mate, was what I would have suggested if you had asked me straight off, as glue melts when heated, providing that it is not a cold melt clue, which is unlikely, (I am not sad, just  worked in plastic packaging for a long time, and hence know a lot about glue!)

Make sure you dont get the paint to hot tho, as it may damage.

And if there's any nasty tacky stuff left on there, try nail polish remover, sure ya got some of that! But wipe it off quick!

I would strongly advise against using nail varnish remover (acetone) as it is a very strong solvent that will do irreversable damage to your paint / body work, I would use warm soapy water to remove any tacky stuff that is left over.

So you know why I am saying this, I worked in packaging for 8 years, for a company that both printed and manufactured high security bags for the likes of securitas / securicor / girobank / most of the major banks and therefore I know a lot about the effects of heat / cold on glues and the effect of solvents on plastics, I also have spent 3 years printing, which I used acetone as a thinner and it is not very nice stuff at all.

Autoglym super resin polish will get any residue off as well.....sure they do a tar remover or something that no doubt would work as well

Must say that i have only used nail polish remover, (yes i did know its called acetone, coz its about the only thing that helps with glassfibre resins too!) on metallic paints which have a lacquer. So it dont get direct on the paint.
I also said use quickly - in other words wipe on wipe off.

Works well with nasty glues on yer fingers!

I was only pointing out that it was a solvent and can do a lot of damage!
