I think it will look good

No one batted an eye lid when the M3 came with a dark (all be it carbon fibre) roof out the factory.

Probably because it's proper carbon fibre, with the purpose of being lighter...not a fake carbon print sticker, or a black sticker that only looks remotely carbon like from 100 paces.

I you have carbon and want to shout about it...fine by me.
If you have fake carbon fibre or a black sticker...not so fine.

Personally, I'd rather have carbon painted, as you get the benefits without the dodgy scene-queen/ricer/chav looks.

This thread probably needs moving out of the mk6 sectoin to get the best response.
Not many people will spend £30k on a brand new Golf and put a big sticker on the roof, however the yoofs in the mk2 and mk3 and maybe even the mk4 guys will be more heavily into this sort of styling. Come to think of it there are a few mk5 guys with black roofs too.
Maybe ask on mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum

I was admiring the press shots of the Polo GTI earlier and that had the panoramic sunroof with half black roof. Looked

It would be best to spray the roof, but this might affect the car's resale value.
On the other hand, a vinyl wrap is reversible, cheaper and no one would know the difference.

A wrap would be much better than painting the roof.
With painting you'd need a good clean edge between the colours plus you'd have to have the whole roof, a pillars and hatch area re-laquered. Not an easy job to get perfect first time on a newish car.
A wrap is just that, stick, trim and remove if you've f**ked up. Much better.
I think the mk5 boys use a company called racoon or similar.
SteveP will know.

Thanks.
Racoon is the one I have decided to use IF I have this done. Am suffering slightly from JGS!
