Bonnet bra problem :(
« on: 18 May 2010, 09:59 »
Hey guys, purchased a bonnet bra off eBay the other week, and fitted it last Monday. My problem is I have since removed it on Saturday and my bonnet is stained and has loads of small scratches. I think t-cut will remove the scratches as they are not deep at all. My problem lies woth the stained bonnet, I have been told it is called White condensation marks. Any ideas as to how to get rid of the stains, tried some polish, but nothing :( also got told boiling water would remove it. Any help would be great. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, thought it might be model specific as it might be the type of paint used on the mk4, rather than the detailing section. Would a machine polish remove the stain? The cars silver if this matters.

Cheers

I used to run a bra!

I used to run tape underneath it. you can get blue tape thats great for protecting paint! Just run that under the bra!  no one would ever knw

Also!!! Try wax, you can get good waxes you rub on the back of the bra and the bonnet!

What bra did you buy? I've been after one for ages and when funds allow i'm going straight to Autobra (google it for their website). Their bras are £60 and i trust their quality. Was looking lastnight on eBay and there's some company called Van-X selling them for £35 which i wouldnt trust if i'm honest!

Just a random guy from eBay, cheap sh!t if I'm being honest. Just gonna sell it on and warn the buyer that it advisable to use the above mentioned tape. Got a link to that tape btw?

Was it a 36DD bra ? If it was, I wouldnt complain about finding that over my bonnet as long as the girl was still around.

If it stained the bonnet , could well be in the laquer  so may need to be rubbed down and re painted. or t-cut mite work aswell.

T-cut wont touch it because its sh1te, get some pics up of said stain/mark and we can advise you properly.

bonnet bra's will stop stone chips etc but they also trap grit and micro particles in the rain underneath it thus scratching/etching the surface.

from your description it sounds like it needs the bra removing(forever  not a big fan sorry) and a rotory needs to be used to remove the imperfections.

@Kev!!!   lol you never fail to crack me up dude
