Weber carb help!!!!!!!!! Close to tears kinda stuff...

What reason would it have to be alloy? Sorry to sound clever,i've just made many a manifolds outa alloy before in cnc machines and with gaskets work very well...

Nope the carb mount needs to be rubber.

Yes I fitted a weber to my 1.3 mk2, however as mentioned above it was a 32dmtr.
The golf I was fitting it on was an early A plate and the manifold was a different pattern to the carb so I had to buy the relevant adaptor direct from webcon.co.uk

So in answer to your question there are two patterns of manifold on a 1.3 golf, I believe it changed in 1985

If you have a dmtl carb though it's wrong and you're wasting your time.

Right the latest on this Carb mystery. The carb defintly came off a 1.3 mk2 Golf. It is defintly a Dmtl 32/34 type Twin choke weber. Spoke to the owner the carb came off today. He assures me that his car is a 1.3 Mk2 Golf.
After some haggling i've managed to convince him to sell me his manifold for the Golf so should mean the carb will bolt straight on  Happy days.

Just need to find a desent air filter to mount on ther enow and to find out if all this talk of these carbs not working on a 1.3 mk2 Golf can be answered

Not the manifold but the mount that bolts to the manifold, it needs to be rubber for various reasons.

Right Fitted the MK2 Golf with the Twin Choke Weber carb. Plumbed everything in.  Got talking to a few frineds and they all recon I will have to up-rate the manual cam driven fuel pump for something high pressure or the carb will be starved... Does anyone agree or do you recon the cam Driven fuel pump will not be up to it.

i am currently running a webber on my 1.3

i fitted this with no problems, it bolted straight down onto the existing manifold. my mk2 is a 1990 H reg.

i have not uprated the fuel pump and it works fine. the only slight problem i have is that if it is not used for say two days it runs very strange, as if it is struggling for some reason

this could just be a problem with my set up of the carb. you will notice the difference straight away. the sound alone is worth it, even if it is only a 1.3

i am also running a K&N bolt on air filter.

i will try and up load some pics tonight.

I've got a dmtl 32/34 type twin choke that everyone said would not work... so i'm waiting to be proved wrong... 

Yours bolted straight on? Was this with a kit that came with the carb outa interest.

Where'd you get the k&n i'm still trying to track one down

got the K&N from demon tweeks.

when i brought the carb it arrived with the ID plate broken, so im not sure what model number it is.
