where to buy new wheels and tyre packages?  ive tried rimstyle they have no stock could get them in but cant say for definate when and they want the money upfront but could end up waiting from 2 weeks to tops of 12 weeks not what i want really

Yes because OEM wheels were designed 20-30 years ago and are heavy and not particularly strong vs modern designs.

The weight of the wheels has a significant impact on the handling of the car, thus it's worthwhile hunting out a lightweight (6kg ish per rim) set of rims.  The +12kg of unsprung weight you're saving over something like a set of Sebrings will have a substantial impact.

I supose that only matters if you want to improve your cars dynamics.

Personally I'm not bothered about all that when it comes to my Mk2, hence keeping it original. I've only pottered about for less than 300 miles so far this year, so a bit of extra weight is not doing me much harm.
