EGR delete info please!
« on: 15 May 2010, 08:01 »
hi ive just ordered an egr delete kit from www.egrvalve.co.uk for my 2002 130tdi golf asz. i take it this is fine to put on a car thats been chipped and not remapped is it? am going to also clean out the intake manifold. having few problems with running issues as explained in previous posts. hope this will make some difference! tried 10k boost yesterday! what a difference! would highgly reccomend to anyone. the throttle seemed smother and was more eager to pull. not 100 % better but a sure 90%!! so next task is egr delete and manifold clean. sweet... just wanted to know really if it would affect the car in any way by putting the kit on. thanks, john.

I was going to get a egr delete for my tdi, but have been told since by a few people that its a bad idea as it helps keep the cylinder temps down

The EGR delete should in theory make the engine internals cleaner as it is not recycling the exhaust gas therefore creating better air flow and reducing stripping to clean the dam EGR and manifold. You are right in saying that it keeps the cylinder temp down but not to such a level that I think would cause detrimental effects to the engine.

I will certainly be fitting one to mine when funds allow.

Why the judder?

because you remove the anti-shudder valve when you remove the EGR  :nerd:
