Miles per tank? (GTD or other Diesels)

Ouch the cheek, sorry GTIs not included  :tongue:. Anyway how many miles are the GTD owners getting per tank, mine has just done 615 miles (3rd tank full)(was 330 at half tank point) with 1500odd miles on the clock and its only getting better.

Would be interesting if people look at how many litres they are putting back in to fill the tank and how many miles they have done since they last brimmed it to the top. That way we could workout the average mpg.
The to the tank figures figues people are asking for are all depending on too many factors.

TBH i havent gaged it on a long trip? But I am getting 60-63 MPG at 50mph, 55 at 75mph. I know this much its costing me a lot less than the ED30 each month £280 for petrol, My GTD is half the cost about £160 but this can fluctiate depending on my right foot!! :smug:

And its sounds awsome and my tailpipes are so clean!! :rolleyes:

I do a 200 mile round trip at least once a week (lets say at a `generous` 70mph), the rest is mostly just work and back on A roads.
I tend to get between 550 and 600 (projects about 630 on a long trip with a full tank), Though I fill up with about 150 still left in.

I keep a spread sheet cos I`m sad, averages I get:

46.19 MPG
12.4p per mile

I have about 3k mile now, and I`m at the phase where I boot it a bit more than when I first got it.

I actually put 54 litres in at 615 which gives 51.8mpg, was driving like miss daisy and had a long run of 300 miles on mainly motorway and on cruise control.  Had only 15 miles on the range clock when I rolled into the petrol station was driving very gently at that point.  Quite impressed and hopefully it will get better, managed to achieve a computer stated 59.8mpg on a run to work which was 28 miles.  Although I think that the cruise control isnt as efficient as driving without at the moment.  I couldn't beat the cruise in my GTTDI 140 Mk5, but not sure about the mk6.  I usually fill up to one click and then fill to the next round litre to get the points as they are dont by litres rather than pounds at shell.

I average around 380.

But then I have a bigger grin on my face for each and every mile. :laugh:

Not sure about miles out of tank but trip from Kenilworth prodrive centre (new touareg launch) to Cheltenham down m5 got it upto 58 mpg doing 70-80 all the way. Needle hardly moved from full on way back
