Tornado red rear bumper different colour
« on: 12 May 2010, 16:52 »
Had the car 3 weeks now and notice a week or so ago that the rear bumper is a darker shade than the rest of the car, it is now begining to annoy me and went back to the dealer last weekend. the sales person I dealt with has now left and spoke to another bloke who reluctantly came outside had a look, agreed it was different but said "well its not a million miles out!" what a t$%t this is a car not paint on the garden fence! he aksed what would I want to see done so told him having it the same colour as the rest would be a good place to start  he has told me to come back and speak to the sales manager.

has anyone else with tornado red experienced anything similiar?

Also have a really annoying squeek inside the car everytime I go over a bump sounds like a budgie and really driving me round the bend

Same as mine, annoys me to the point of stopping the car and asking her to walk the rest of way

Noticed on a few new golfs the door colours are very slightly out also. There's a few in my dealers like that.

I dont think mine is that bad but there is a bit.  The shadows though can make it look like that especially on the top of the bumper where the hatch meets the bumper.

Looks odd:

Not so bad:

SEATs suffer bumper colour differences badly. Its to do with the black colour of the plastic of the bumpers. Were as other panels are light coloured due to the undercoat and galv coating.

Mine is perfect.
Excellent paint finish, no rattles or squeaks yet at 850 miles, smooth drive and pretty quiet.
Engine, gearbox and suspension are turning out to be real gems.

Painting plastic rather than a metal will always give you a different shade. Unless its a massive amount out I would say it's normal.

Any pictures?

thanx people I will see what the dealer says when I take it back tomorrow i did think it may have something to do with the paint going onto plastic but the front bumper is fine and matches perfectly, surely if thy can get the front right they should be able to get the back right. No pictures as yet i keep meaning to post some of the car anyway so hopefully get round to it this weekend if its not covered in ice that is
