Well you know you can, its more of question of should you???... if you're not worried about the fact that it may impact their performance a little and in the long term you may want to change them when you have more money then do it...  Since there seems to be no explanation as to why it sits like it does, I think the only option you have one day when cash is better is a set of coilovers..

the only reason i have not done so far (other than it being rough of course) is that i am holding onto some vain hope that when i fit coilovers i can recoup some cash by selling the eibach ones. but is there something wrong with them? who knows?

thicko question here... is it just the springs that are likely to be at fault or the dampers too?

ignore scott's input though (i seriously think he is a little jealous!) - the car these came off lived a very easy life, despite being a track car but they haven't just sat in teh same position for 15 years as he would have one believe

I can't see quality eibach springs sagging even if they had a bit of abuse TBO.  The suspension I took off the mk1 were Eibach springs and Boge shocks and a good few years old too, they almost still looked like new when clean and it sat fine.  Also if a spring is going to sag i would expect the front to give in due to the weight, the rear has to cope with far less...

The shocks should have no say in this at all as they do nothing to support the car or the way it sits etc unless of course the front shocks have seized which you would certainly know about if they had.
