sorry, a bit quiet on the progress front. i think my rear axle is bent. my porsche rears are 9" with 205 tyres. they scrubbed the plastic arch. go figure.

swapped them for 7x17 and the near side wheel is rubbing on the inner arch when there is weight in the back or if i hit a bump in the road. i know 17's are a big wheel on a nk 2 but i have run them before on the track car which was much lower than this.

is there a way to measure the axle? i am assuming n/s mounting bolt to o/s hub and opposite on the other side. if they measure different, it aint straight.

i also thought the car was sagging in the n/s/r corner but i have just measured wheel centre to arch and the rears are within 2mm so i am ok with that

These 17s a different offset to the ones you've ran before on another car?

what you say about measuring seems OK, might also be worth checking its not twisted by jacking the car up, back wheels off and checking the distance from the center of the hub of each side to the highest point of the rear arch?

Is the camber OK?

will try that. camber LOOKS to be the same each side.

porsche rears are et52 less 20mm adapters = et32. the chav 17's were et35 so sat in 3mm further but were 2" narrower

hmmmm very odd, with your strange extra drop on the rear the arms on the beam maybe bent up a little???  I have foolishly twisted a beam before many years ago when I was forced to jack a car on one side of it.  :lipsrsealed:

I have a spare complete rear beam that has 1 brand new caliper and usable discs and pads that I've not yet fitted to my GL. Could be tempted to sell it to get my car running as I could buy another one at a later date, get your offers in!

haha cheers but i have a spare axle.
who wants to see some wheels!

without doubt the worst picture i have taken. was in a rush. think the light balance was set for something else!

centre caps are on the way but need painting.

gap in front arches now looks even worse as the front tyres are 195/45 and rears are 195/50.

50's are off on the front later in the week
