Hi all
I've had my GTi for two weeks now and love it, but I'm wondering if I have a steering rack issue. When stationery or moving slowly, when the wheel turns I can hear what I can only describe as a grinding noise. There's no clicking, just a faint grinding - this happens regardless of which way I'm turning the wheel, and from probably half lock onwards.
I've never come across this before but doing a search on here throws up posts about steering racks...except most of them relate to 2006-2007 GTi's. Mine is an 09 plate, and probably one of the last MK5s made, so I'm a bit surprised. It's got 12k on the clock and the highline has just prompted me to get it serviced in 500 miles or 136 days, so I'll be booking it in soon.
Any thoughts?
