There is a video of 5th gear trying them out. The only problem seems to be that the sound redlines prematurely in relation to your actual engine.

Perhaps then the items are better suited to diesels and thus your transit would be perfect.

Well, I ordered one from Germany last night, so I'll let you know. I did a bit of research online and they only seem compatible with about 50% of cars - don't really know why.

I'll try it on our 3 vehicles (GTI, Transit & Renault Espace) and see what happens. It is a silly gadget and I can well see myself getting tired of it after a few days, even if it works as advertised on that Aussie video, but I can always sell it on again.

Another thing I might add....

for some instant performance increase get a passenger to sit with a bottle of fizzy juice. shake it and release (but make sure not to spill it) when you accelerate. Sounds just like a proper dump valve

Well, my SoundRacer thingy arrived in the post today. I plugged it into the 12V outlet in my Transit van, tuned in the radio to the frequency displayed on the SoundRacer and - to my amazement - it worked first time! It's a good laugh around town, though you'd have to be a masochist to listen to it on the motorway. I'll probably keep it just to surprise people in the van, but I don't think I'll ever put it in the GTI

I'll see what I can do, but it won't be for a few days, as I am really busy at work at the moment
