Fitted some 1W 12v LED Sidelights, look amazing but getting a bulb out error!   Bloody new cars! Not sure if it makes a difference that the ordginal sidelights are 5w 12v? Ordered a new set of LEDs that are the same 5w 12v so see how that goes.

The computer monitors the current to the lamps and as you have only 1W instead of 5W it will be using much less current, hence the bulb blown warning. Using the 5W should cure the problem. :nerd:

Great news, thought that might be the case :-)

Cheers Rick

Dipped beam is H7 mate, sidelights are 501. To be honest unless you do do alot of night driving on back roads i would leave your full beam. Dipped beams on the other hand, i would change. The Ring Xenon Maxs 100 I fitted are much better and whiter looking! I fitted Phillips to my gf's Corsa and the Ring bulb are definetly brighter and much more clearer! Suppose thats not a fair test as it on two completely different cars. I will be fitting MTECs this week so will get pics up of them and and see how they go.
Thanks mate. You've convinced me (I've seen the light ) I'm going to go for Ring Xenon Max's now.... they seem to get very good reviews as well. I'll try and do some before and after shots as well.

Did you get your bumper fixed?

Funny you should mention that... Tony Daher ( Chipsaway ) is coming to my office tomorrow to repair the large stone chips on my lower front bumber and a minor chip on the edge of my drivers side door ( £160 incl VAT ).  I'll let you know how I get on.

p.s. I'm sure he will do a good job...... If not, I will blame you for recommending him

Well my Mtec Super White HID Class 55W arrived yesterday, so got them fitted straight away. Also bought some 5W 12V LED sidelights to get rid of that bulb out warning light. That has worked but they are no where near as good as the ones i had in so back to the drawing board! On the look out for some good quality 5W LED sidelights, cant seem to find any so in two minds whether to put the 1W back in and live with the bulb out light on the dash??? What do you think???

After fitting the first Mtec and taking a pic of comparising for you all, went to take the second bulb out the package and managed to bend the bulb slightly at the base  and shattered the bulb a wee bitty  Was so angry with myself! Fitted the bulb regardless as it still works but have ordered a new set. Haven't done any night driving yet as its summer nights and not dark till half ten 11 ish. Heard the Mtecs are a "show" bulb and not preformance but time will tell. Looks wise they are so much whiter than the Ring Xenon 100 i bought on Saturday, and they were a lot whiter than the OEM bulbs!

Try having an old bulb in with a new one and driving about to see if you notice the difference (You'll look like a fud, but hey its research  ) Then park the car up somewhere dark and and get out and have a look and see which ones you prefer.
Trying to compare one set of bulbs with another is nigh impossible unless they can be compared side by side.
