Candy white GTI from Switzerland
« on: 08 May 2010, 11:30 »
Hi everyone

I'm Phil from Switzerland. Picked up my GTI a week ago and still no pictures. Why? Because we have the worst May since ever, only 7 minutes (!) of sun so far. Today it looks better and I may be able to get some nice pics.

My GTI has 4 doors and a manual transmission. I also went for these options:

Technology package (contains RNS 510, media-in and bluetooth)
Design package (contains 18" & leather)
Comfort package (contains parking sensors, hill holder and some nets in the boot)
power folding mirrors
Sunroof
Cruise control

Xenons, multifunction steering wheel and privacy glass is standard on Swiss GTIs.

When I picked up the GTI last Saturday there was a second GTI ready to pick up. It was united grey and I noticed some LEDs in the front grill. I asked the dealer what that is and he answered: It will be an unmarked police car! Ok then, local police has the same car as me

I plan a road trip to some nice places in the alps like I did in 2008 with a Mk5 GTI. The pic below was taken on the famous Stelvio pass.

Try to take some pics of the new GTI today.

No I don't have ACC (which is called DCC in Switzerland). The only thing I miss is a better soundsystem. Maybe I should have taken Dynaudio  :undecided:

I don't have: (1) Sunroof, (2) Bi-Xenons, (3) Dynaudio, (4) Leather, (5) Hill Hold, (6) RNS510 + Bluetooth. Bi-Xenons and Dynaudio would have been nice.

The rest you can see from my signatrure.

Soon be getting: (1) RNS 510 + Bluetooth, (2) Rear LEDs.

Later on: (1) Re-map with Superchips Bluefin.

It's turning into a labour of love!

I guess that Bluefin stuff is chiptuning? Forget that in Switzerland. Increasing the HP of your car -> prison.

Nice car, seems a bit harsh to send you to prison just for remapping your car.  I dread to think what happens if you were to say, steal one (electric chair?)

Don't worry, you won't go to prison if you remap your car. But the procedure to get all the paperwork done is ridiculously expensive, so you better buy a more powerful car in the first place.
