The more and more I read about these the more they are beginning to grow on me. I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about them yet ! Now if only I had about 25k down the side of the sofa !

Did anyone see Top Gear tonight?
They reviewed the Mk5 GTI and Clarkson loved it. They even did a small parade of the previous Mks.
With a 200bhp Turbo engine it goes pretty good, and although it's wasn't quite as quick as the Honda Civic Type-R, they preferred it cos you could take it anywhere and it'd be acceptable, at home in Chelsea or Chigwell.

Apparently the base spec 3dr GTI in boring paint (non-metallic) will be ?19,995.
It's a much more appealing car than the Mk4 GTI and it's the best looking version of the Mk5.

I did hear somewhere that some of these big online car importers are offering the new GTi at 2k lower tahn VW - sorry can't remember where but could be worth a try.
Yes, Clarkson had nothing but praise for the car - yes agree Gibby the car is growing on me too, but unless i sell my house and my mk 4 i could not afford the extras i would want....
