thanks guys stills seems to be a 50 /50 split,
if the golf had more bhp there would be only 1 choice.
also the beemer is automatic which is great and i would like dsg also, but i always found manual diesels better to drive even though the dsg box gets great views i feel it might be more suited to the gti-no??

You must go and drive them to make the correct choice for yourself. :smiley:

Forgive me for stating the obvious but GTD owners love the GTD. GTI owners love the GTI. Either way that's alot of happy owners so neither car will disappoint.

Yes they are both great cars to own, the question is would i buy another diesel after also owning both cars over the years, and the its a yes i would :cool:

And A GTI owner also likes the GTD  :wink:
But i also like the Skoda octavia vRS TDI170 if i was looking for a bigger family car. Which is much cheaper than the golf GTD or its cousin the SEAT Leon FR TDI.
