compensation? anyone get any?

Alright all,

After waiting longer than most I will be picking up my Golf on Friday.

I have already brought up the subject of compensation and was told that until the car is registered VW headoffice will not commit to anything. The car was ordered to arrive 01 January and have been in a loan car since mid Feb. Now, I would like to go in forearmed with examples of others compensation so would really appreicate some help.

If you got any compensation please let me know what / how much...

Try pushing for a few extras ? mud flaps, rubber mats for winter,tank of juice & some free servicing etc ?. Might not do any good but if you don't ask    .

Compensation?

My price was the same as the day I ordered it.  So went through 2? price rises as well as my VAT being frozen at 15% as agreed by the dealer and VW.

Also got my steel door trims, mudflaps, free lifeshine, a bottle of Moet & Chandon champers and a big box of chocolates.

Feeling generous, I gave my salesbloke a nice bottle of white and red wine as I was very pleased that he got the car over this week.

Gene, I'm thinking of asking for £300 to cover the fact I had to sort my own car out for 5 weeks and £400 on accessories.
The dealer was going to fit a bluetooth unit as part of the deal from the beginning but have since agreed to pay for a Fiscon unit, I already have a proforma invoice addressed to the dealer.

Compensation when i was/am still looking into it, depends mainly on what discount you got from the dealer on your car. As VW seem to make the dealer pay most if not all of compo.
Always work on what someone paid for there car compared to list to work out how there compo will translate to your deal. As they could simply be getting the % you got off as cash as there compo/goodwill.
I do think you maybe aiming abit high at £400 parts, £300 cash if im truthful.
If VW offered me £700 for parts for my hassle i would take it as it would sort everything i want to add to my mk6 from VW parts dept out and make me feel better about the crap i went through.
