Oh right maybe ill give the £30 session a go.  12 car doesnt sound good at all lol max speed of 30mph!.

I think you're missing the point of a 12 car scatter......
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

You need to read up a touch more.

There's no maximum speed of 30mph.

Your average speed must not exceed 30mph, IIRC.

BIG difference and I don't think you'd even come close to bothering the limit you are seeing.

Used to go watch a classic car night rally in the lake district. 30MPH average is bloody quick for any car over Wrynose pass and the surrounding area lol! Other than that, get out to the Isle of man where there are no speed limits outside of the towns (though that doesnt mean you ca drive like an idiot!) or Ireland where they still close public roads for rallies/tests.

An average 12 car is usually 60 miles in 2 hours.

So your average is 30mph, however that includes that time sat at control (you can arrive early if it's not a regularity, if it is you have to keep to bang on 30, no more no less) and does not account for you getting lost. Which if you have coded routecards you will do. Making up time is the key.

The worse you are the faster you have to end up going. 12 car is all about the navigator, it's bloody good fun though. After getting lost and making up time along whites at 80ish a sensible speed is fantastic.

Night rallies are slighty different, they are more driver oriented, they have sections that are fully competeritve (so a couple of laps round a route on an airfield), competition sections along roads.

There's a VAG only time attack on June 6th at Kames EACC.

Probs a bit out of the way for you.

Can't wait.

3 laps best, overall time wins.

Ordered my new helmet yesterday

Knockhill Speed sunday £50.00 All you need is MOT and scrutineers to check your car isn't going to kill you and more importantly drop oil all over their nice clean track.

Trackdays are cheaper than speeding fines Insurance hikes as result of convictions. Plus there are ambulances there if the worst happens.

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

There is such thing called road rallying, in england they use timing called jogularity which is all about averaging 30m.p.h which is all down to the navigator. In wales we us regularity and standard timing which is a lot more competitive. We use all sorts of roads from gravel, tarmac and tracks. I would advise you to come give it a go!! Iv been at it for 6 years now. Most rallys now have 90 cars starting, they have different classes Novice, semi experts, experts and masters. Some cars are standard and some cars have £20,000 to £30,000 worth of modifying on them. golfmk2s seem to be getting popular on the road rallying scene. Its ar geat buzz doing it. You dont have to have a cage but is advised. If you would like any info e mail me at ants306@hotmail.com

as said averaging 30 MPH sounds easy...........   in wales it's not  esp when you discover the striped of grass in the middel of the road is higher than the car your in........

then for the next 30 mins all you can hear a pair of turbos screaming  and pritty much all you can smell is burning brakes, clutch and carbon bonnet.  all to make an average speed ( for the correct route of 30 mph)
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
