Looking cool!  Didn't realise you can show the oil temperature!

Wouldnt go fast in my GTI without seeing it to be honest. If it aint the right temp I'd let a granny at 80 pass me.

I'll soon get that number up.  Officially I cant drive for another 4 weeks or so (although the odd short stint is ok)

It's a nice old feature that has made a welcome return.

As a rule, and as I want to keep the engine in as good condition as possible, I let the car warm up before driving it.  Usually takes about 12 minutes for the water temp to hit 90, and then for the oil to register at 50.  under gentle driving conditions, the oil sits about 90, and on the motorway sits between 98 to 102.

I just found out about the oil temp a few days ago myself. It's a really nice feature. Thee coolant usually gets to about 90 quickly but the oil takes some time. I always wait for it to get to about 90 before I put my foot down. The hightest temp I've got on the oil is 96 but it'll probably be higher in the summer. Going on a long roadtrip in 2 weeks so it'll probably reach 100 on the autobahn. :D
