Just out of interest how much is the Sach's kit on it's own without labour?
I'm sure it's more then £500 isn't it?

Not saying your lying mate and not implying that at all but it just seems way to good to be true.
Well you've had it done and your happy with it so you got a damn good deal my friend.

OEM Sach clutch is around £125 and can get a pattern part DMF for £250 ish thats the prices I was giving by a garage
an upgraded Sach clutch is over well £600 now
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

VW clutch = Sachs or SKF

I wish VW bummers would research so they can stop being annoying. "Ohhh is VW better than sachs", VW don't MAKE parts, they're made in batches for VAG with VAG stamps and most items are available via factors without the VAG stamp for a normal rate.

And before some snob says they make engines, im generally referring to consumables that a motor factors would stock.

I looked around and could get the sachs kit for less than £500. My local motor factor would do it for £320 + vat and I tried a few more that were around the same sort of price. I was going to get the kit and pay him for the labour. Turns out he got a blinding price on the Kit and did the job for £470 all in for me. He has since done my mates 130PD with the same for £500, so yeah I was proper happy with the deal he did me but he has done all the work on my car!

A deal to be had if anyone wants his number... He's near Wilmington about 5 mins from Junction 3 (i think) on the M25

Is that a standard Sach's clutch or the uprated one?

I was told that if you buy a clutch kit off vw then there just crappy reconditioned units which have poor balancing issues. :S

Its going to be the standard OE kit. The one that he removed was sachs but not sure if that is fitted from new or not. Mines done 93k now.
