Hi all i looking to buy myself a golf mk3 so i thought i would say hello!
I was hoping for some advice on a car i looked at today, its a 1.9 diesel on a 1996 plate its a solid car and in good nick with 120,000 miles! only thing is it has a slight whine in reverse!!! is this a sign of problems?
Many thanks Graham

welcome mate, not sure about the whine,is it at low speed or high speed?
also check the jack points, bootlid, and under the trimming on the wheel arches for rust.

Thanks for the welcome gang!
Ive checked everything on the car and it is sound! apart from the whine in reverse! it just seems louder than other cars ive had and looked at (none of them being a mk3) so im not sure about it? any advice more than welcome.
many thanks again Graham
